My name is David Barber and I'd like to welcome you to this Second Tuesday Seminar.

Today we're going to be talking about the Center for Internet Imaging and Database Systems. I'm the lead programmer at the Center. The Center works closely with the College of Agricultural and Environmental Science's Office of Information Technology.

Don Hamilton and Ed Brown are co-principal investigators and co-founders of the Center. Don is also the Director of the Office of Information Technology. Other Center team members are Julian Beckwith, the Project Manager; Sherri McElroy Clark, a programmer and technical documenter; and Yin Xiong, a programmer as well. Please proceed to Slide 3.

Slide 3. What is CIIDS? What is the Center going to mean for you as a College Faculty member? The Center is a resource that is available to all college faculty members to aid in the development technical web applications.

We're an alternative to the Office of Information Technology's "Web Application Group". The "Web Application Group" is very heavily taxed right now and currently they are not accepting any future web applications for development. There just aren't enough resources. So we are a resource that you can turn to if you need an application developed in a time sensitive manner.

We can customize the development of your applications to suit your time and functional requirements. Because we are not funded by the College, all work is performed on a cost-recovery basis. We can hire more personnel as necessary, if a resource requires that we add personnel.
